How to remove yourself from People Data Labs

People Data Labs is a people-search site. Sites like this build listings from public records and purchased data, often with your address, age, phone number and relatives. Here's how to ask it to remove you, for free. You don't need Free My ID to do this.

Step by step

  1. Write an email to privacy@peopledatalabs.com.

  2. Say: "Please delete my personal information and stop selling or sharing it." Add your full name and the city and state where you live.

  3. Keep a copy of your email. Allow about 45 days for a reply.

Opens privacy.peopledatalabs.com, People Data Labs's own website.

We haven't been able to check these steps against People Data Labs's live page yet. Sites change their pages often, so if something looks different, follow what the page says.

You should never have to pay to be removed. If a people-search site asks for money or your Social Security number, stop.

Or let Free My ID do it

Free My ID writes this email for you. With a removal mailbox set up, it sends it and watches for the reply; without one, it opens the message in your own email program. Then it checks again later, because sites can list people again.
